CLAIRE'S SEWCIAL SEWING

Sewcial Sewing is based in Barnsley providing fabric, haberdashery and sewing classes in Penistone, South Yorkshire.

Have you always wanted to learn to sew, want to improve your skills or to just meet like-minded people who love sewing? Then you have come to the right place.

Sewcial Sewing started in 2016 drawing on my 40 plus years sewing experience. My classes include techniques in:

• Dressmaking
• Home furnishings
• Patchwork
• Quilting
• Bag Making
• Lingerie and Corsets

With sewing no longer on the school curriculum, my aim is to bring sewing back to being something anyone can learn and to make it social and happy. I have four sewing machines and an overlocker. These machines are for use by anyone and can be loaned for a small fee. The overlocker has been a great addition to my classes and my students love the chance to try it out without having to pay the price for one.

On the third Sunday of the month I hold Sewcial Sundays, a place to come and sit and sew with like minded people.

In October 2023, I was extremely lucky to open my very own fabric and haberdashery shop in the heart of Penistone.

I now stock a range of fabric, haberdashery and tools. These are available in my shop, at my classes and online.
