Description
Join walk leader Dave and the friendly group on a social stroll along the Trans Pennine Trail. There are various routes available depending on the ability of the group.
The walk covers roughly 2 miles and rest stops are available if required. There are some steps to get onto the trail, but the rest is flat. There is an access point for wheelchairs and mobility scooters nearby that Dave can guide you to if required. The surface is paved but can get flooded occasionally. There are usually 2 walk leaders on the walk, therefore, the group can split off onto the various routes. If there's only 1 walk leader, the group will stay together and do the more even ground routes.
Duration 1 hour.
There is a free car park available outside Kate's Sandwich Bar or you can catch the Stagecoach bus 22X or 226 that drops you just before the meeting point.
More details with photos and a map of the meeting point for each walk can be found on The Ramblers Website: https://www.ramblers.org.uk/go-walking/wellbeing-walks/search?longitude=-1.48333&latitude=53.55&type=wellbeing-walk&distance=40&sort=date&groups=ZC01.
