Providing support to people with additional communication needs in particular those who are deaf/hard of hearing.

Description

Are you a resident of South Yorkshire, unemployed and not in education and aged 16+ in need of support to learn new skills to gain employment then look no further.

Aspire to Be is an innovative service for those who are:

  • Deaf/hard of hearing and those with a learning difficulty/disability or other communication issues that inspires and makes a difference.

A programme that is flexible to better meet the needs of individuals.  We look a the ability and not the disability. We encourage others to see opportunities rather than challenges.

We have a range of options available to assist you in your journey and achieve your goals.

Employability Support
We will assist with CV writing, cover letters, job search activities, interview prep, Independent travel advice, employer engagement.

Confidence Building
Offer a 3 day confidence building course.

Work experience
Simulated work environments—Warehouse, Hotel Suite, Shop, Kitchen/Café and Admin office on site to help train and prepare you for the world of work.

Non accredited awards ( linked to simulated work areas )
We have developed various industry non-accredited unit awards based on each sectors standards that support the learning and understanding required to undertake job roles.

Health & Well being

Information, Advice & Guidance
Signpost /support with need for external interventions

SUCCESS
Last year 60% of our service users gained employment
Working with employers is an essential part of what we do

  • We have links with many industry sectors
  • Provide in-depth awareness to employers and employees
  • Arrange work trials to maximise successful applications and improve job retention

The job recruitment process then becomes more robust and reliable for the employer and the service user
