Description
Dentists providing NHS care are self-employed contractors with NHS England but cannot turn down an applicant on the grounds of:
- Race
- Gender
- Social Class
- Age
- Religion
- Sexual orientation appearance
- disability
- dental condition.
In applying to become an NHS patient of a particular dentist practice, there is no formal requirement to prove identity or immigration status.
As an asylum seeker or refugee, you are able to apply for full or partial funding towards dental costs through the NHS Low Income Scheme. See the NHS website page for more information.
