Who we are

Advice and guidance on staying warm and well during the winter months. This leaflet can also be translated by selected the required language by clicking the translate button in the top panel on the BMBC website page.

Keeping warm will help you to stay well this winter.  The cold weather can be seriously bad for your health, especially if you are under five or have a long-term health condition.

It's important to keep warm, both inside and outdoors.  Keeping warm over the winter months can help prevent colds, flu and more serious health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, pneumonia and depression.  If you have a respiratory condition, it's important to heat your home to at least 18C (65f) if you can stay indoors as much as possible.

If you have older neighbours and relatives with heart or respiratory problems, make sure they're warm enough. Help them to stay safe and well too.
