Description

Specialising in people living with dementia and isolated people.

Hello I care for my dad who has dementia. I formed Butterflies, as I believe passionately that remaining active has helped keep my dad who is today. At times I have found this quite challenging, however it doesn't need to be. We meet several times every week for a range of activities and support.

I try to encourage anyone to attend so that other isolated people feel welcome, which in turn brings a true sense of normality for everyone. I am always looking for new ways to support people in the same or similar situation to my dad and I.

On Thursdays we have an informal group meeting every week 'Giving Carers a Break' whilst their loved ones take part in therapeutic self advocacy sessions. These sessions are fun and uplifting.

Check our Facebook page so see the fun we've been having. We offer support from first hand experience to regular guest speakers to ensure carers are accessing all the help and support they need.
