Description
Umbrella offers wellbeing support to people living in Barnsley, who are over the age of 18. Our aim is to improve emotional wellbeing and develop a knowledge and strength to allow an individual to overcome emotional challenges they may face. Our friendly service is free and confidential.
We have a range of support available depending on your needs including;
- One 2 one support sessions
- Counselling (8 -12 sessions)
- Social Groups
Our one 2 one support sessions are designed to help individuals to make simple changes and to take actions that can have a positive impact on their day-to-day wellbeing.
Our counselling Service an offer up to 12 sessions of counselling, for those who may require an opportunity to explore concerns or issues in a safe, non-judgmental, and empathic environment.
Wellbeing support groups help to connect service users with those around them.
We also have a Well-being Coordinator based at The Factory in Goldthorpe for those unable to access the town centre. He can help with low level mental health referrals and can also help with signposting to other agencies for help and support.

Criteria and how to refer
- Struggling with low mood/anxiety
- Aged 18 year and above
- Living in Barnsley
- Not under the care or on a waiting list with any other mental health team.
Referrals can be made by a professional or they can self-refer.

Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri 9am - 5pm
Thursday 11am - 7pm
Wednesday at The Factory.
