ITEC - BTEC CARE/CHILDCARE LEVEL 1 COURSE

ITEC are able to deliver the BTEC Level 1 course in Care and Childcare. At the end of the course you will receive a Certificate in Exploring the Caring Sector. No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required before a student can register for this qualification but must be over the age of 19 (no upper age limit), currently unemployed and not attending any other funded learning.

The objectives of the qualification: - Provide a flexible and challenging programme of study related to the caring sectors that is suited to students who have the general interest and aptitude to progress to further study.

• Broaden and deepen students' understanding of careers in healthcare, social care and children's services.
• Provide a broad and balanced programme of study through the core unit that develops knowledge and understanding relevant to the caring sector as a whole.
• Allow students to develop their personal and employability skills through the provision of a broad range of optional units.
• Provide opportunities for the development of transferable skills related to study and vocational application that provide a platform for success. 
• Support informed progression to Level 2 qualifications in health, social care or children's services sectors.
• Give Students the potential opportunity to progress to employment, in due course, in a range of job roles in the caring sectors. The course will last for 10 days, Monday to Friday (delivered over two weeks), hours of attendance are 10.00am - 3.00pm.

Light refreshments and reimbursed travel expenses are included. On completion students will receive a Pearson BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Exploring the Caring Sectors, a £20 achievement voucher and support and guidance onto next steps.
