JEFF'S WHEELCHAIR WALKS

www.jeffswheelchairwalks.org.uk is a website dedicated to shorts walks in the South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and near the Nottingham area that all have a suitable surface for a motorised wheelchair, ordinary wheelchairs and pushchairs.

'Over the last 20 years, since I have been in a wheelchair, my sister Audrey and myself [Jeff] have done many walks as we have always enjoyed the outdoors and walking through our wonderful countryside. So we decided to catalogue the walks we found that were generally flat and wheelchair accessible and in recent years we have “found” the worldwide web'.

Each walk is between 1 and 6 miles and generally has a café or pub stop nearby! You can search various locations of interest and there is a brief description of the facilities, parking, toilets etc and a host of pictures. We have recently updated our website and we hope you find it useful.

We have over 85 walks available and we are sure you will find one to suit your requirements, whether it be on location, ease of access, length of walk or proximity to nearby attractions. All the walks have a written guide with photographs and maps, a grid reference and OS Map reference and a brief introduction. Nearby facilities including shops, cafes, toilets and watering holes are included.

A general description of the type of paths is also given so that wheelchair users and pushchair operators can decide if the ground is suitable for them (there are usually photos as well to help). A gallery of photographs is normally available with links to videos of the walks if available. There is also a blog where you can add your news and feedback on any walk.
