Living at Shaftsbury House
Moving into a new home can be unsettling, so we work closely with families and carers to make this process as smooth as possible. We plan a gradual transition period, with short visits and overnight stays until the individual feels comfortable moving into their new home.
Activities on offer include outings to the seaside, going out for meals, playing pool or attending a football match and drop-in services. Within the home, people like to contribute to the family environment and enjoy their hobbies. Individuals are encouraged to be as independent as possible and can help with everyday tasks, such as hoovering, looking after their own rooms, gardening, cooking and getting the shopping.
Our team
Our dedicated team has a wealth of experience in supporting people with a variety of disabilities and support needs. All staff are committed to the premise of ‘seeing the person not the condition’ and in promoting the individual’s privacy, rights and dignity. We have a rolling programme of training and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure we are up-to-date with best practices.
