Description

Barnsley adult epilepsy nursing service provides specialist care for people who have a diagnosis of epilepsy, their carers and their families. The aim of the service is to help people to gain effective seizure control without medication side effects.

The service provides individualised care to empower people to manage their epilepsy through medicines management, education, lifestyle support and counselling.

The epilepsy nurses work closely with the consultant neurologist at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. They also work with general practitioners and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless care.
