We specialise in the management of high-risk foot care with the aim of reducing the need for service users to be admitted to hospital and ultimately prevent amputation.
Our aim is to empower individuals to ultimately manage their own needs to reduce the risk of them experiencing long term foot problems.
We also provide gait and joint functional assessments and provide specialist insoles/orthoses if suitable to reduce the pain and discomfort associated with biomechanical abnormalities.
We offer:
- Nail surgery using local anesthetic
- High-risk foot care – Callous management for individuals with medical conditions which put them at risk of developing ulceration, infection and amputation.
- Wound care
- Biomechanical assessments
- Orthoses / insoles
If you wish to refer yourself or one of your patients to access the Podiatry / Foot Protection Service, please see the referrals section of this page where an online referral form can be accessed. Prior to completing the online referral form if the referral relates to a recurrent ingrown toenail, active foot wound or painful corns / callous then if possible, please photograph the area and include this within the referral. This will assist the service to appropriately triage your referral and determine the care provided.
