Northern College, based in Wentworth Castle in Barnsley, is the only adult residential college in the North supporting adults to re-enter education to upskill, progress, gain employment or retrain for a new career. The ultimate goal is to transform lives through adult education. The college specialises in providing educational opportunities for all adults aged 19+ from across the South Yorkshire region.

Cost: *Some courses are free for eligible students. Short courses fees £50 Accommodation if residential £25 ( bed, breakfast, evening meal) Accredited courses costs on course information links *People on UC and work based benefits may be entitled to fee remission on the production of benefit evidence. *People on low income (Below £17,004 annual gross salary) may be entitled to fee remission on production of wage slips confirming amount earned.
Eligibility: The College is open to adults over the age of 19. - Prospective students/referrals apply online for a course - Students offered a place on the course will receive an email 6 weeks before the start of the course - Course offers are emailed out to the student whether it is in college or online - Students register in college from 9.30am on the first day of the course - Students complete an online registration form if studying online before the start of the course and another email is sent to the student with joining instructions.
