AGE UK BARNSLEY - TOGETHER IN WOMBWELL FOR OLDER PEOPLE

We will work witholder peoplewho feel isolated to identify ways of addressing thise.g. by having someone visit them in their own home, helping with transport etc. This is a free service and available to anyone over the age of 50 in Wombwell and the surrounding communities. At the same time we are also looking for volunteers for a range of roles in this area. This may mean helping to run a group, supporting an event,befriending someonewho is feeling lonely and isolated, helping someone with their shopping, collecting prescriptions etc. Volunteering can be a brilliant way of meeting others andlooking afteryour wellbeing. We will talk to you about what you feel you can offer and tailor the experience to you. Your input could be regular or occasional depending on what suits you.We will really appreciate your support.
