Worsbrough Mill - Working Mill & Country Park

BARNSLEY MUSEUMS - WORSBROUGH MILL - WORKING MILL & COUNTRY PARK

Worsbrough Mill, Worsbrough Bridge, Barnsley, S70 5LJ

Who we are

Worsbrough mill is a 17th Century working water mill set in stunning parkland. This venue is part of the Barnsley Safe Places Scheme.

Description

It is an amazing place to visit, watch wildlife and see history come alive. Discover centuries of milling, learning more about the process, following it from beginning to end. It is a unique opportunity to see history come to life. Marvel at the power of water, be intrigued by clever engineering and see flour being milled in the traditional way.

Being one of the few remaining working water mills in Yorkshire it makes it a truly unique attraction. The on-site millers produce a range of premium organic artisan flours, which are available to buy.

The Mill is set within a 240 acre country park and tranquil nature reserve, complete with reservoir, which can be explored on foot or by bicycle, and don’t forget to buy a bag of organic flour to take home! Check our website for events.

New shop, visitor space and bakery now open !

A grant received from the Culture Recovery Fund has been used to create new visitor space and shop, a new volunteer hub within a derelict historic space for the Mill’s award-winning volunteers to use, a micro bakery which will regularly sell bread made from flour milled on site and extend the very popular on-site café to enable more visitors to sit inside.

The transformed shop space is a treasure trove for budding bakers, cooking connoisseurs and wildlife enthusiasts with lots of unique and ethically sourced gift ideas on offer.
