FRIENDS OF LOCKE PARK

Locke Park, Park Road, Barnsley, S70 1QJ

Who we are

Friends of Locke Park

Description

There are 47 acres of Barnsley’s Locke Park only a mile from Barnsley’s town centre, with gardens, trees and open grass areas, an historic tower, a statue of Joseph Locke and a bandstand, bowling greens, games and play areas, and a café. There are public toilets near the café and play area.

Friends of Locke Park are a volunteer group working together to improve the facilities in the Park and to engage with all the community in events and participation. We are involved in a range of projects and activities:

  • Gardening (weather dependent)
  • Helping at events
  • Fundraising for improving the park and conserving its heritage and natural environment
  • Guided tours in Locke Park
  • Promoting fitness and walking activities
  • Bandstand concerts in the summer months.

All groups are welcome.

Contact us to find out how you can get involved.

Opening Times

Locke Park is open from dawn until dusk every day.

Public toilets are open from 9am until 5pm (or dusk if earlier).
