Greenside Chiropody and Podiatry Clinic is part of the Health & Care Professional Council and as a Podiatry private practitioner we ensure our business remains at the highest standards of patient care. The majority of the patients we treat are self-referred or have been referred by other medical practitioners or podiatrists as we can treat a range of podiatry problems including nail surgery and assessments for Sidas orthotics.
We are also able to refer to more specialised services within the NHS if necessary. Our Podiatry and Chiropody Services include:

Chiropody
Treatment of dermatological and other foot related problems such as corns, callus, verrucas, in-growing toenails and fungal infections.
Long-term management of chronic disorders.
Therapeutic techniques, such as minor surgery using local anesthesia.
Monitoring and managing foot problems and deformities caused by diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and advising and treating patients at high risk of foot problems such as diabetics.
Analysis of a person's walk or run and correcting anatomical relationships between different segments of the foot by prescribing pre-made orthotics or custom-made orthotics / arch supports.
Delivering foot healthcare education to all.
Working closely with other medical practitioners, for example, orthopaedic specialists, GPs and health visitors in providing health care.
- Essential foot care for specialist areas e.g. Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Peripheral Arterial Disease etc.
- Vascular and neurological assessments and wound management.
- Nail surgery using a local anesthetic, for a patient with an ingrowing toe nail.
- Bio-mechanical assessment for the prescription of pre-made (arch supports) / Sidas custom-made orthotics.
- Care to patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.
Podiatry
Podiatrists are autonomous healthcare professionals who aim to improve the mobility, independence and quality of life for their patients. They assess, diagnose and treat people with problems of the feet, ankles and lower limbs. This can include providing the following:

Essential foot care, for an elderly or disabled person unable to reach their own feet.

Vascular and neurological assessment, and wound management for a patient with diabetes with an ulcer under their foot.

Nail surgery using a local anaesthetic for an ingrowing toe nail.

Paediatric biomechanical assessment leading to the prescription and manufacture of an orthotic, for a child who has a problem with tripping and pains in their legs.

Laser therapy for a person with muscular skeletal pain.

Palliative care to a person with rheumatoid arthritis who has severe pains in her feet and finds wearing shoes difficult.
