Description
Breastfeeding helps you to give your baby the best possible start in life. Breast milk is tailor-made for your baby and it:
- contains vitamins and minerals
- is always available
- offers protection from certain infections
- helps improve your baby's long-term health
- saves you money
- helps the environment and supports climate change. Watch Sheffield Family Hub's video to find out more.
Some mums and babies get the hang of breastfeeding straight away. However, some may take a little more time. Here in Barnsley, we have lots of support available.
Breastfeed – anytime, anywhere
We champion breastfeeding in our borough. We want mums to feel confident and empowered to breastfeed their babies whenever, and wherever they are.
We spoke to local mums about their breastfeeding experience. We're now working to help increase breastfeeding visibility and tackle barriers to feeding in public.
Breastfeeding offers so many benefits for mum and baby, and it’s time we celebrated this!
Join us in honouring the strength of breastfeeding. It’s a choice, a right, and a personal journey.
