Fully adaptive boxing classes for anyone using a wheelchair, having a disability or autism.
I believe passionately that adaptive boxing is an incredible craft which can be enjoyed by all. This sport can significantly improve quality of life through functional, transferable skills that can be used on a day to day basis. The exercises can provide a range of physical benefits from increased fitness levels, strength and conditioning, to hand-eye coordination, memory and core stability/mobility.
Adaptive Boxing can also be a powerful tool in improving mental health, confidence and self-esteem. The versatility of the sport also means that it can be enjoyed at a variety of levels and adapted to suit individual abilities.
The classes were becoming about so much more than boxing. We were creating a community. With the help and support of our members we have been able to provide a safe space for people with disabilities to exercise and speak openly about the challenges they faced, share coping mechanisms and build friendships. We began providing free aromatherapy and nutrition advice, mental health blogs, support and signposting.
So we're lacing up the gloves again with our Goldthorpe sessions and we have our 8 week #snackbox course for Autistic adults, in partnership with @sheffield_sapn

Juniors (aged 5-13yrs) adaptive boxing- 4.30-5.15pm
Adults adaptive boxing 5.15-6.15pm
Snack Box for autism 6.15-7.30pm
