Description

The Penistone Line Partnership is a voluntary organisation which supports and promotes community involvement along the Huddersfield to Sheffield railway line. The Penistone Line Partnership draws together train operator Northern, Network Rail, local authorities and users to raise awareness of the railway in the local community, promote and market it more effectively, develop ideas and arrange funding for local improvements.

I am able to deliver talks to groups about what the Penistone Line Partnership does; I can deliver Rail Safety talks; travel training and confidence workshops on catching the train (this can include where to catch a train from, how to read a timetable, information on tickets, and can also include a familiarisation trip on the Penistone Line).

There is so much to visit and see at each station, we also have guided walks between stations. It's a great day out! We need volunteers for opportunities which vary from looking after stations, to delivering timetables and information. We also need people to adopt a station along the line, which involves looking after planters, feeding back on vandalism or repairs etc.

We are now a Dementia Friend :)
