Description
The QUIT team are a specialist mental health tobacco treatment team. They provide tobacco treatment to patients that smoke, who are admitted to the Oakwell Centre. They will provide nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and/or vapes to help patients manage their withdrawal symptoms whilst being unable to smoke in the hospital grounds. The team can also help patients to cut down or quit smoking altogether and support patients throughout their whole inpatient stay and for up to 12 months post discharge.
The team offer tobacco treatment to community mental health patients who may need extra support and a longer treatment plan than generic stop smoking services. NRT and vapes can be provided.
We also offer support to Trust staff based at Kendray Hospital that want to quit smoking. NRT and vapes can be provided free of charge for up to 12 weeks.
