Thurgoland Hall Lane, Thurgoland, S35 7EN

Who we are

Ever thought of having an allotment? The benefits not only include fresh fruit and vegetables but it can also help improve your health and wellbeing as well as being part of the gardening community.

Description

Thurgoland is very fortunate to have a thriving allotment site with 29 plots, the majority of which are half size.  The allotments are situated off Thurgoland Hall Lane, just outside the village, and have  magnificent views of the surrounding landscape.

There is a friendly community spirit and advice on what will grow and how to grow it is freely offered. The ground is fertile though the site is very exposed and often windy.

Thanks to the generosity of individual allotment holders and the support of the Parish Council the Thurgoland Allotment site is now owned by the Parish Council.  This will ensure that this land is held for the benefit of the community in perpetuity.

Allotment holders grow a wide variety of produce.

If you would like to rent an allotment please contact the Parish Clerk. There is currently a waiting list and priority is given to residents of Thurgoland Parish but in certain circumstances applications are accepted from people living in nearby parishes.
