Wortley & Thurgoland Luncheon Club

THURGOLAND VILLAGE HALL - WORTLEY & THURGOLAND LUNCHEON CLUB

Thurgoland Village Hall, Roper Lane, Thurgoland, S35 7AA

Who we are

If you are 65 or over and live on your own in Thurgoland, Wortley, Crane Moor, Howbrook, Green Moor or Hood Green, why not join us for a tasty two course meal every Tuesday.

Description

This very successful club has been going for over 35 years, offering a hot nourishing lunch and social activities for anyone over the age of 65 and living alone in Thurgoland and nearby villages.

Although the Luncheon Club had to close during lockdown because of Covid restrictions, it has now reopened and welcomes our guests back old and new. In addition to the weekly meals, the club organizes trips out to the coast and other events.

The Club would also welcome more volunteer helpers, especially to help with the cooking. If you contact Margery, you would be put on a rota for 1 session per month.
No previous experience is necessary, as you would be given help and training.

This is a wonderful luncheon club, providing a warm and friendly welcome. Many of the guests have been coming along for many years, and they look forward to meeting old friends.
