YORKSHIRE SPORTS FOUNDATION - COMMNUNITY HEALTH AND WELL-BEING CHAMPION, VOLUNTEER ROLE

The group wishes to recruit people (including young people) that are based in the Dearne who could volunteer around 2 hours per week. The main part of this role will be around seeking the views of local residents in relation to the set priorities. The two priorities for the task group over the next six months will be 'Young People' and the 'emotional wellbeing' of working age adults. The Community Champion will be based in local services, attend local groups and events which have the biggest footfall in the area. This will be overseen and coordinated by the Neighbourhood Task Group and Area Team. The Community Champion will also receive support and training in relation to this role and attend the Neighbourhood Task Group in order to provide updates. Expenses for travel in relation to this role will also be paid. Tasks and Activities include to undertake a consultation exercise with residents of the Dearne community, to attend local groups/events and service provision in the Dearne area, to attend training with regards to this role and to attend and feedback findings to the Neighbourhood Task Group.
