West Street is a registered care home which provides support to six individuals with learning disabilities and physical disabilities, these may be multiple complex disabilities including an enduring health condition and some behavioural support needs.
We provide person centred support based on each individual’s needs, wishes and personal aspirations. All staff are trained to a high standard to ensure people get individualised support to meet their needs and develop their independence.
West Street is situated within the village of Wombwell and is close to a wide range of local amenities, leisure and education facilities. All of our residents are encouraged to develop and experience a variety of activities both within the home and in the community. We have good links with the local area and with specialist services and although we have a vehicle available, we encourage our residents to use local public transport, helping to build confidence and independence.
Each room on the lower floor has en-suits facilities, and the upper level consists of two self-contained flats. Our communal areas, offer the option of spending time with others or relaxing alone. These include a lounge, a fully accessible kitchen/dining room and an activity room with sensory equipment. We have a garden a large level patio, a summer house and adequate garden furniture to accommodate our service users.
