SOUTH YORKSHIRE POLICE - INDEPENDENT ADVISORY GROUP (IAG)

The IAG is a partnership between South Yorkshire Police and local community members who provide independent advice to help ensure policing in Barnsley is fair, effective and informed by real community perspectives.

IAG aims:

• Offer constructive, independent feedback as a critical friend.
• Help police understand community concerns and how actions may be perceived.
• Advise on policies and cultural issues affecting diverse groups.
• Strengthen joint working to address local issues and support victims.

Key principles: Independent, impartial, inclusive, informed, involved and insightful.

We would like to include as many members as possible that represent the different communities across Barnsley. Please continue to promote the IAG within communities and groups and encourage other people to become IAG members.
