Description
Our aim is to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing by creating a welcoming, inclusive and non-judgemental space where people can connect with others who understand the realities of living with long-term health conditions.
We offer both in-person and online peer support, alongside accessible social and wellbeing activities. These may include informal meet-ups, creative activities, gentle movement, relaxation sessions and workshops. We also work with local organisations and services to help members access useful information, opportunities and additional support.
The Gentle Rebellion group is built around connection rather than pressure. Members can participate according to their individual health, energy and capacity, and there is no expectation to “perform wellness” or be anything other than where they are.
We particularly welcome people who may feel isolated or disconnected because of their health and would benefit from friendship, understanding and a sense of community.
The Gentle Rebellion is a peer-support community rather than a medical or counselling service. Where appropriate, we can signpost members towards relevant professional services and organisations.
