Bell Ringing At Darfield

ALL SAINTS CHURCH DARFIELD - BELL RINGING

All Saints Church, Church Street, Darfield, S73 9JX

Who we are

Bell Ringing at All Saints Church Darfield

Description

The Bell-Ringers practice in the tower every Thursday between 19:30 to 21:00 and we ring for Sunday morning services from 10:30 to 11:00 every week. We also ring for weddings by request and often for other important Christian festivals or national events. Our aim is to call the people of Darfield to worship and to remind them of the existence of the church. We have regular Darfield ringers, with a wide range of ages!

We have friends from nearby towers such as Barnburgh and Monk Bretton who regularly help at our practices for services or weddings and we help them in return. We would love to welcome any new learners; ideally we need at least 12 to 15 ringers in order to keep all 8 bells sounding regularly. Bell ringing is a very interesting hobby and is also a chance to meet other people. As a bell ringer you will be most welcome at other towers, either in the local area or when you are on holiday. Our ringers often go on “bell ringing outings” with other local ringers.

You do not need to be musical, you do not need to be strong, and we can teach you. Being able to count to 8 would help, but we can even teach you that!

If you are aged between 10 to 100 and want to give it a try please let us know.
