The Patient Experience and Engagement Team are here to listen to patients’ thoughts, feelings and ideas.  We feedback on your experiences to the hospital staff and senior management, in order to improve patient care.

How we do this

Community Groups

If you would like the Patient Experience and Engagement Team to join you at a community group to listen to your feedback about hospital services and ways in which you can get involved in the work we do please contact us.

Patient Panel

 The Trust patient panel aims to give our service users a strong voice to help shape the way in which Barnsley Hospital delivers healthcare.  As members of the patient panel, here are some of the things you will have your say on:

• Information for patients
• Service design or re-design
• Accessing Services
• Facilities and the environment e.g. food and cleanliness

You might be asked to share your views by email, telephone, video meetings, attending focus groups.  You can choose just how involved you’d like to be.

Patient Stories

Patient stories are presented to the Board of Directors via video, either by you as service users or by staff involved in your care at Barnsley Hospital. These stories help to bring experiences to life and help us to understand what we could do better and share the things that we do well. 

If you have recently been a service user at Barnsley Hospital and you have an experience you would like to share then please contact us.

• Community Diagnostic Centre
• Intensive Care Unit
• Children’s Emergency Department and Assessment Unit
• Mortuary
