FUTURE STEPS - ALL ABOUT PRACTICAL MONEY

Funded by Barnsley Council, we're running group budgeting sessions covering food, travel, smoking, takeaways, credit cards and loans and ways to easily cut spending using standing orders.

The courses are delivered in and around the community, we usually deliver in Libraries, community centres, charity hubs and so much more. We don't need a lot of space and usually cater to groups of no more than 10.

We hold two sessions:

1. Engagement (Short) - Our engagement sessions take around 10 minutes to complete and we do this in groups or as a one to one session. We look at how we budget our food and a different way of looking at a typical food budget outside the box.
2. Substantive (Long) - Our substantive sessions last 6 hours and we run them either over a full day, two 3 hour days or three 2 hour days. We go over the full list looking at food, travel, smoking etc. We use practical elements throughout to change how people learn maths and budgeting.

Who is Eligible?

Because of funding, we have a few requirements that participants need to meet. However you can attend the substantive course if you already have a C in maths or the equivalent if we can justify a need, ie: they are in debt or need help with their finances.

• 19+ We can only deliver to ages above 19 years old.
• Barnsley Resident, participants must have a Barnsley postcode.
• No A-C in maths or the equivalent qualification.
