INCLUSION IN ACTION - SHE SHED ASSOCIATION

Worsbrough Dale Park Pavilion, 27 Oakdale, Worsbrough, S70 5EF

Who we are

Open to all women in Barnsley. A place where women feel at home and pursue practical interests and hobbies.

Description

Open to all women in Barnsley. This is your invitation to join a larger communal version of the typical shed in a garden. A place where women feel at home and pursue practical interests in company, with a high degree of autonomy. Hobbies shape women's personalities, energise, inspire and connect them with other like-minded women. Expressing one's creativity often ends up giving life its meaning.

For women, there also seems to be a universal desire to express creativity. Women have an insatiable desire to shape order from chaos and to create things that never existed before. They want to produce magic with paints, wool and glass or create beauty with words and music. The She Shed Association is a communal place of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. It is a place of leisure, where women come together to engage in enjoyable activities.

This avoids the challenges created by the sense of loneliness that affects especially older people who have been active all their lives and find it difficult to create new relationships in a world which is changing so quickly. So, don't be lonely, come and join the She Shed Association for free and together we will decide what activities we want!

Hygiene packs are available.
