Description

On the 22nd February the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, spoke on television and he said Covid is going to go away, so we will have to learn to live with it, like the flu virus.

The vaccines are working well and even though the number of people catching Covid is still high, less people are getting very ill or dying from it.

The goernment want people to make theri own choices about waht they want to do if they catch Covid instead of having government laws about it.  The government laws are rules we have been following since the start of the pandemic.

The end of the Covid Rules

From Thursday 24th February all the laws for Covid in England will end.  It will not be law to self isolate if you test positive for Covid.  But until the 1st April, the government advice is still to stay at home if you have Covid.

It will not be law to do a lateral flow test if you have had contact with someone who tests positive for Covid.

If a new type of the Coronavirus is found in Engaldn the rules might change back again.

The end of free tests

On April 1st only people who are old aor vulnerable will get free lateral flow and PCR Covid Tests.  We will tell you more about this when it happens.

The booster vaccines

In the spring people over the age of 75 and vulnerable people will be offered a fourth vaccine.

If something is worrying you about the changes to the rules talk to someone you trust. This might be your family, a freind or a carer.
