Description
Working in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions and funded by NHS England and ICB, Employment Advice in NHS Talking Therapies was initiated from 2015 to increase the availability of employment support within NHS Talking Therapies providers and ensure that there is sufficient capacity to provide combined therapy and employment support for people who are wanting to Remain in, Return to or Find employment.
Trained employment advisors work jointly with therapists to create tailored action plans and support individuals to recover with their mental health and move into meaningful and sustainable work.
Find - find a job after being unemployed, or to find suitable employment
Return - return to work from sick leave, maybe negotiating a phased return to work or reasonable adjustments, or a disclosure conversation.
Remain - not looking for a new job, but currently struggling and need to improve the working environment , maybe request for reasonable adjustments or to change their role within the company.
It doesn't have to be a serious disciplinary issue.
