SPRINGVALE COMMUNITY GARDENING

We are a Community Garden run entirely by volunteers with the purpose of education about healthy eating and growing, Conservation of our 4 acre site, with its diverse habitat, and providing purposeful recreation for volunteers and visitors.

Opportunities include general vegetable and flower gardening, site and orchard maintenance, looking after the pond and maintaining the footpaths and walkways.

We grow and sell the vegetables and plants and host various visits for schools. Local groups hire the facilities for meetings and parties. The community garden holds various open days and events for example, 'how to bud roses and graft fruit trees.'

Every volunteering day we always take breaks and enjoy refreshments and lunch together making volunteering sociable as well as purposeful. Light, moderate and vigorous intensity level opportunities available.
