U3A - THE MOTORBIKE GROUP

The Motorbike Group is open to all U3A members, male or female, with an interest in motorbikes. While there may be an emphasis on riding, members who do not currently own or ride a motorbike are welcome to join and share their experiences, expertise, and interests.

Meetings are divided in a broadly seasonal manner, with summer and/or good riding days used for longer planned rides with specific purpose in mind, and winter and/or poor riding days are used for social meetings, to plan and/or review activities. The non-riding meetings are also used to share experience and expertise, and also to look at member's projects.

Outside of the planned meetings, members maintain a message circle to enable short notice link ups for ad-hoc rides. Longer rides, involving overnight stops may also be developed.

The purpose of our rides is to enjoy them, not to thrash about as fast as possible, and this means using less busy roads with regular stops rather than motorways.
