SILENT STOMPERS - MUSIC, MOVEMENT AND CONNECTION

Silent Stompers is a fun, friendly and inclusive community silent disco experience delivered by Suicide Sucks CIC, a not-for-profit organisation based in Barnsley.

Our sessions are all about improving physical and mental wellbeing through music, movement and social connection. We believe that music has the power to lift our mood, bring people together and help us feel good Participants wear wireless headphones and enjoy a fantastic mix of uplifting music while moving, dancing or simply enjoying the atmosphere. There are no routines to follow, no dance experience needed and absolutely no pressure to participate in any particular way. Whether you want to dance your socks off, gently move to the music or just enjoy being around other people, everyone is welcome.

Silent Stompers is particularly beneficial for people who may be experiencing loneliness, social isolation, low mood or stress, as well as anyone wanting to improve their wellbeing, get moving or meet new people.

Our sessions offer:

One of the lovely things about Silent Stompers is that everyone is listening to the same music through their headphones, creating a shared experience while allowing people to enjoy it in their own way.

Who can attend?

Silent Stompers is open to adults of all ages and abilities. You don't need to be fit, confident or a good dancer. You can move as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, and you're welcome to along on your own or with friends. 

We particularly encourage people who may feel nervous about joining traditional exercise.
