Description
As we head towards the winter months, we know that older people in Barnsley will be worried about what the colder weather will bring, with many concerned about the impact of rising bills and some facing the impossible choice between heating and eating this winter.
Age UK Barnsley are very proud to have been commissioned through Barnsley Council’s Household Support Grant to provide 132 FREE warm homes checks this winter, to improve energy efficiency and support older residents in need.
We are urging residents who might be worried about the cost of living to get in touch and book a free warm homes check.
A warm homes check involves a home visit with one of our specialist advisors who will assess your home and provide helpful advice and practical measures to improve energy efficiency. They can supply and fit free items such as insulation, draught excluders, radiator foils, energy saving lightbulbs during the visit.
Please call our Information and Advice Team on 01226 776825 or email information@ageukbarnsley.org.uk to find out more.
Our Information and Advice Team are also available to provide specialist advice on benefits, housing, social care and much more to residents who need support. Please get in touch and one of our advisors will be able to assist you. The Team can provide advice over the phone, or can provide an office visit or home visit (subject to the client’s individual needs).
